After years of anticipation, the City of Reno has made waves with the grand opening of the new Moana Springs Community Aquatics and Fitness Center. This state-of-the-art aquatic facility it’s a welcomed addition to the community. Located in the heart of Reno at the original Moana Pool location, this pool marks a significant milestone in the city’s efforts to offer more community aquatic spaces.
This month, my son's school, Marce Herz Middle School, hosted its yearly Color Rush Fundraiser. It was a blast, filled with vibrant colors! So, what is a Color Rush? Students are provided with white shirts and then can walk or run around the school's track field, getting covered in cornstarch-based colored powders thrown at them around the course. It might get a bit messy, but the colors wash off easily and are environmentally friendly. This event occurs every year and is the school's largest fundraiser. Students have been actively raising funds and earning rewards for their participation. Currently, the fundraiser has surpassed $30,000!
