Fourth of July Celebrations Around Northern Nevada
The Fourth of July is just days away and we are lucky to have a variety of spectacular patriotic celebrations available in Northern Nevada. Visitors and locals alike can enjoy many activities including family-friendly events, outdoor barbecues, live entertainment, and amazing fireworks displays. Here is your last-minute guide to some of our favorite Fourth of July celebrations happening around our region over the next few days.
Reno-Sparks 4th of July Celebrations
Patriotic Pops at the Field, Downtown Reno, July 3rd at 6 p.m.
Greater Nevada Field, home of the Reno Aces, will host The Reno Philharmonic for a patriotic pops performance. After the musical performance, the event will close with a fireworks show. Tickets range from $18-$94 and can be purchased online.
Patriotism in the Park and the Great American Parade, Downtown Reno, July 4th
In collaboration with Reno Artown, Patriotism in the Park will feature live patriotic concerts and performances from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. As part of the all-day Independence Day celebration at Wingfield Park, you can explore The Great American Craft Fair, showcasing over 100 artisan handmade artists and vendors. The annual Great American Parade kicks off at 11 a.m. at the Downtown Riverwalk at City Plaza. For the best viewing spots include McKinley Park, along the Riverwalk, or find a place along North Virginia Street. The announcer and entertainment will be stationed at City Plaza and Locomotion Plaza.
Reno Aces vs. Sacramento River Cats, Downtown Reno, July 4th at 6:35 p.m
Come to watch some great baseball and stay for the fireworks. The Reno Aces will host the Sacramento River Cats on July 4th and will follow the game with a fireworks show for fans. For details and to purchase tickets, visit renoaces.com.
Damonte Ranch Fireworks, South Reno, July 4th
The Damonte Ranch Community will launch a fireworks show on July 4th from Downtown Damonte Ranch. It’s important to note that traffic restrictions and lane closures will be in effect. There is no public access to the launch site. Fireworks should be viewable from around the South Meadows. The tentative start time is 9:15 p.m.
Grand Sierra Resort Celebration and Fireworks, Reno, July 4th
The Grand Sierra Resort is planning fireworks over the Grand Bay at approximately 9:15 p.m. Viewing from the parking lot is free but space will be subject to availability. The Grand Sierra Resort will also host an all-day pool party with barbecue and beverages at The Pool, starting at 11 a.m. The cost is $25 for adults, $10 for children ages 12 and under, and free for hotel guests. Star Spangled Sparks, Victorian Square in Sparks, July 4th
Centered at Sparks' Victorian Square, head down early and enjoy the patriotic celebration with food, drink, and shopping vendors starting at 4 p.m. Star Spangled Sparks will launch their fireworks show at approximately 9:30 p.m. More details can be found online.
Lake Tahoe 4th of July Celebrations
White and Tahoe Blue II Fireworks, Incline Beach, July 4th
Red, White & Tahoe Blue II, Inc. announced the return of fireworks to Incline Village after a pause in the event over the past five years. This well-loved tradition will return on July 4th and fireworks will start at approximately 9:30 p.m. For details, visit rwtb.fun.
Tahoe City Drone Show, Tahoe City, July 4th
A day-long celebration kicks off at noon with food, drinks, and activities taking place on Commons Beach and throughout Tahoe City. The celebration will end with a patriotic drone show featuring 300 drones paired with a musical broadcast on the local 101.5 FM station. Carpooling is recommended and be sure to visit TahoeTruckeeTransit.com for free bus and shuttle service schedules for the event. Check online for more event details.
Lights on the Lake Fireworks, Stateline, July 4th
South Lake Tahoe’s Lights on the Lake fireworks spectacular will start at approximately 9:45 p.m. on July 4th. This annual event is billed as one of the top five fireworks displays in the nation. The fireworks are visible from all over South Lake Tahoe and from many places around the lake including Nevada Beach, Tallac Historica Site, and Lakeview Commons/El Dorado Beach. Fourth of July in Virginia City
Independence Day celebrations in Virginia City will feature the Annual Fourth of July Parade at noon and local merchants will offer unique shopping and delicious dining options throughout the day. Visitors can experience train rides on the Virginia & Truckee Railroad train rides or take in one of Virginia City's many tours, museums, and attractions. The patriotic atmosphere wraps up with a Fireworks Spectacular after the sun goes down. Check out the details online.
