Food Truck Fridays - Every Friday in June

Located at Idlewild Park, every Friday in June from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Food Truck Fridays returns with more than 45 rotating gourmet food, craft desserts, beer, wine, and mixed drink vendors. This event is free to attend and also features live music, lots of grass to sit on with friends and family, plenty of parking, and a large playground and train rides for the kids. This is a great family event so grab your lawn chairs and a blanket and sample all kinds of food options while enjoying a beautiful and warm June evening in Reno. 

Reno-Tahoe Odyssey Relay Run Adventure - June 3-4, 2023

The Reno-Tahoe Odyssey is a 178-mile relay race that takes teams of 12 runners from Reno to Lake Tahoe and back. The race is broken up into 36 legs, with each runner completing three legs of varying distances and difficulty levels - averaging 5 miles per leg. This event is not only a great way to challenge yourself physically but also to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Sierra Nevada mountains. The relay starts at Wingfield Park along the Truckee River in downtown Reno, runs through Truckee, Tahoe City, South Lake Tahoe, Genoa, Carson City, and Virginia City before returning to Reno and finishing at Idlewild Park.

Reno River Festival - June 9-11, 2023

The Reno River Festival is a three-day event that takes place on the banks of the Truckee River in downtown Reno. This festival celebrates the river and the outdoor recreational opportunities it offers. Visitors can enjoy live music, food vendors, and a variety of activities such as kayaking, paddleboarding, and fly fishing. There are also competitions and races for those who want to showcase their skills on the water.

The Great Eldorado BBQ, Brews, and Blues Festival - June 17-18, 2023

The Great Eldorado BBQ, Brews, and Blues Festival takes place at the Eldorado Resort Casino and features some of the best BBQ and craft beer in the region. Visitors can enjoy live music from renowned blues musicians while sampling a variety of BBQ dishes and local craft beers. There is also a rib-eating contest and a beer-stein holding competition for those who want to participate in the fun.

Reno Rodeo - June 15-24, 2023

Known as the "Wildest, Richest Rodeo in the West," the Reno Rodeo is an annual event that takes place in Reno each June. The rodeo has a rich history, dating back to 1919 when it was first held as a competition between local ranches. Today, the Reno Rodeo is one of the most popular events in the region and attracts thousands of visitors from around the country. The Reno Rodeo is a PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) sanctioned sporting event and is a non-profit organization made up of over 900 volunteers. According to the Reno Rodeo, over 140,000 fans attend the Reno Rodeo. 

The rodeo takes place over ten days in June and features a variety of events, including bull riding, steer wrestling, barrel racing, team roping, and more. There are also several special events, including a cattle drive, a parade, and a cowboy poetry gathering. The Reno Rodeo attracts some of the best rodeo athletes in the world who compete for a share of the $2 million in winnings.
