Hot August Nights (July 29 - August 7, 2023): Classic car enthusiasts, this one's for you! Hot August Nights is a renowned annual event where vintage cars line the streets of Reno and Sparks. Enjoy live music, food vendors, and a friendly atmosphere that celebrates all things retro.

Classical Tahoe (July 9 - August 17): Enjoy orchestra, jazz, chamber music, and family concerts set in an intimate outdoor pavilion on Lake Tahoe’s North Shore. Musicians include some of the very best from the top orchestras in the country such as the MET Opera Orchestra, LA Phil, NY Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, Dallas Symphony, Toronto Symphony, and more.

Sierra Arts Festival (August 12, 2023): This event at the Sparks Marina celebrates local artists with an outdoor, open-air art market, music, family-friendly entertainment, a beer garden, and local food trucks. The event will feature an art sale as well as entertainment including a Hula Hoop Jam, stilt walkers, clowns, and live music.

37th Annual Bowers Bluegrass Festival (August 24 -27, 2023): Three days of Bluegrass, Western Swing, Old Time & Folk Music at the picturesque Bowers Regional Park in Washoe Valley. Enjoy music, camping, workshops, vendors, kids' activities, and more.
 
Reno Chalk Art & Music Festival  (August 25 - 27, 2023): Some of the most talented chalk artists in the nation transform the blacktop at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa into one-of-a-kind masterpieces. Reno Chalk Art & Music Festival is the largest chalk art event in the region and features live art installations, live music, food and drink experiences, local art and craft shops, and a Kids Zone. 

Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-Off (August 30 - September 4, 2023): Though it spills into September, we can't miss mentioning this finger-licking event! Head to Sparks, and relish mouthwatering ribs from top-notch BBQ pitmasters from across the country.

Other ongoing events and activities that continue into August include the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival, Reno Aces Baseball at Greater Nevada Field, Food Truck Fridays, and Dragon Lights Reno.
