Hot August Nights (Aug. 4-7): The 37th Annual Hot August Nights returns to Reno-Sparks with a full schedule of Show-n-Shines, cruises, car enthusiast events, live entertainment, drag races, and more. This renowned annual event brings thousands of vintage cars to the streets of Reno and Sparks. Hot August Nights is one of the largest annual classic car events in the world with 6,000 officially registered vehicles 1979 or older.
Truckee Music Fest (Aug. 9-10): Head just west of Reno to the Truckee Music Fest for food, family, outdoor fun, and some amazing live music lineups in the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains. On Friday night, Kip Moore, Charles Kelley & A Thousand Horses will perform. On Saturday don't miss Sublime, G Love & Special Sauce & Makua Rothman. Tickets are available online.
38th Annual Bowers Bluegrass Festival (Aug. 23-25): Three days of Bluegrass, Western Swing, Old Time & Folk Music at the historic Bowers Regional Park in Washoe Valley. Enjoy live music, camping, workshops, vendors, food trucks, kids' activities, and more.
Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-Off (Aug. 28 - Sept. 2): Some of the top BBQ teams in the nation will come together in Sparks to compete for a chance to claim nearly $20,000 in prize money and earn coveted bragging rights! The festival draws an estimated 350,000-400,000 BBQ enthusiasts each year, who indulge in over 250,000 pounds of mouth-watering ribs throughout the 6-day event.
