June has arrived, and brings the excitement of summer to the Reno-Sparks region. This month presents the perfect opportunity to embrace the sunny days and explore a variety of events that cater to all kinds of interests. In this blog post, I’ll highlight some of my favorite outdoor activities happening in Reno-Sparks this June.

Reno Rodeo  📅 June 19-28📍 Reno Livestock Event Center

The "Wildest, Richest Rodeo in the West" kicks off on June 19th for its 106th year. The Reno Rodeo is a PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) sanctioned sporting event that attracts over 140,000 fans each year and is made possible by over 1,000 volunteers. Some highlights of this year's Reno Rodeo include:

  • A kickoff concert on Wednesday, June 18,  featuring multi-platinum country star Scotty McCreery.
  •  Xtreme Bull Riding on Thursday,  June 19, showcasing 40 of the world's best professional bull riders and 40 of the best bulls in the country.
  • Starting on Friday, June 20, is the first of nine pro rodeo performances with PRCA events including bareback, team roping, saddle bronc, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, women’s barrel racing, women’s breakaway roping, and bull riding.
  • A daily carnival from June 19 - 28, from 4 p.m. to midnight daily, except for Saturday and Sunday, when it opens from noon to midnight. The carnival is free with your rodeo ticket or $10 per person without a rodeo ticket.
The Reno Rodeo is fun for the entire family, and the event often sells out! Grab your cowboy boots and hat and be sure to get your Reno Rodeo tickets early!
